"Inland Fracture (Battles)' takes the shape of an interactive, immersive installation, at the Garage Centre for Contemporary Culture in Moscow, Russia. It was exhibited as part of Art Experiment and was shown along side artist Martin Creed.

'Inland Fracture' aims to immerse the viewer and dislocate their mind from the outside world by placing each individual visitor through a series of visual, physical and cerebral chain of events.

The materials and layout of the installation reference a metaphysical battle between two conflicting and uncontrolled elements. Opposing liquids, congeal and flood a living room, claustrophobic tunnels lead down different paths to the core of the installation, whilst visitors make personal sculptures that are sent to workers who are in constant rivalry. The end result is a gallery showcasing a stream of colliding sculptures, falling as they compete for their position as an exhibited collaboration.

The installation tackles ideas where perception and limitation breed new outcomes; most notably drawing attention to the human psychological state that is produced when confronted with tangible situations and scenarios.

ATOI have created a world containing endless cycles of change, where harmony merges with chaos and destruction breeds creation.

'Inland Fracture (battles)' has been supported by British Council. It is part of Art Experiment, an annual event at The Garage Centre For Contemporary Culture. The event was sponsored by Deutsche Bank.
